Canon eos 90D camera

The Canon 90D is now my third Canon camera after I started taking intensive photos with single-lens reflex cameras (DSLR) again 10 years ago. After the Canon 1000D made the start, it became a Canon 700D in 2013, which is now being replaced by the new 90D. I was satisfied with all three cameras, but wanted to improve accordingly. And that has now become possible again thanks to the 90D. Because system cameras and SLR cameras are discussed again and again, I will briefly state my reasons for favoring DSLRs:
a. Lie better in the hand
b. The natural image is seen through the viewfinder
c. Lower battery consumption through the viewfinder
d. Lighter system cameras lose their advantage if you operate high-quality lenses with them

It was also considered whether one should not venture into the full-format area right away. Because these cameras are far superior to half-format cameras in terms of noise and cost the same price in the entry-level class (Canon 6D Mark II). However, this was not done for the following reasons:
a. The crop factor means you are closer to the subject with telephoto lenses
b. The advantages of the full-frame camera in the wide-angle range can be offset by a shorter focal length (e.g. fisheye)
c. My lenses are optimized for half format. I should have bought a new wide-angle lens and always been allowed to post-process my fisheye shots
d. I also use the camera for astronomical recordings. With the appropriate clip filters, the camera can later be used equally for day and night shots. This is not easy with the Canon 6D.

So the Canon 90D was purchased and extensively tested on vacation. It’s definitely a step forward compared to the 700D. This recently had some problems with focusing and the noise values were never optimal. The 90D has some nice advantages over the 700D here:
a. Lower noise for night shots up to 6400 ASA, so that you can mostly take pictures without a tripod
b. The images are crisp and sharp in all recording cases; you no longer have to make several attempts to be on the safe side
c. The shutter speeds are very fast; it’s fun to record moving objects
d. The images can easily be played on the smartphone or tablet using a WLAN connection in order to analyze them more precisely or to send them (very practical). Remote triggering using smartphones is also a useful function
e. The camera isn’t too heavy yet, albeit a little heavier than the 700D
f. There are five HDR programs included that are fun to play with. Other creative programs have yet to be tried
G. Very high resolution thanks to the new 32 megapixel sensor
H. 16: 9 images can be produced for the best possible screen presentation

I haven’t noticed any negative points so far. You shouldn’t make the mistake of comparing the 90D with a full-frame camera. The latter will do better and better in terms of noise behavior. The video function has not yet been tested, but it was also not the reason for buying the camera.
